A good spa day is needed because it can offer you more than relaxation. It can be for some a cleansing others a healing.
New Orleans native, Daphne Johnson, owner and operator of Serenity Spa opened her doors in November of 2009 in the JW Marriot on Canal St after being located in several other well established hotel chains. “Having a built-in clientele from the hotel guests is a huge benefit and advantage. That was my primary reason for choosing a hotel atmosphere.”She is the proud business owner of one of the only black owned spas in the New Orleans area. When guests ask to meet the owner, Johnson says many are shocked to see her [an African-American woman] come forward. This is definitely not something she pays attention to, though. What Serenity Spa does focus on is a special vision and sustainable business, “I have to staff people that are a good fit for my vision. Once I recognized that I  have to nurture one’s strengths, than it became easier.”

Johnson’s follows a simple mantra, “From spa therapy to retail therapy’. Everyone is seeking an escape from their own reality. Therapy comes in several forms. Some paint, some do yoga. Serenity Spa has tapped into two types of therapy, pampering and shopping. Once you are completely relaxed by our wonderful spa therapist you can then take a piece of that relaxation home. We have a Serenity Spa fragrance collection, offering candles, lotion, powder, body mist, lip balm and more. I also have, for those whose retail therapy is Boutique shopping, an array of fashionable clothing, jewelry, scarves, purses and shoes.”Serenity Spa offers an array of services including:
