I’ve got a few requests to point people in the direction of flowing champagne, music and a great time for young black professionals. Unfortunately, I will be partaking in dinner and a house party in Houston, but take a look at my suggestions below!

1. New Year’s Eve Champagne tasting featuring Veuve Cliquot and Moet & Chandon

Run down: I have had some amazing times at Second Vine Wine this year, but who hasn’t had a great time when wine is involved. If I were celebrating in New Orleans, I’d head here first then dinner and maybe to end the night with the Soul Rebels.

2. New Year’s Eve 2014-15

“Bearded Lady” Billy Francesca and Miss Aubrey Synclaire host the gay club’s New Year’s Eve party with music by DJ Mike Bryant and VJ Brendan Thompson, a Champagne toast at midnight, and a $1,000 balloon drop, Dec. 31, starting at 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve tickets include admission to the Hung Over and Broke party (with all you can drink well and draft beer) on Jan. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by a “Lipstixx: Ladies on Parade” drag show.

Run down: I’m not sure if any of you are interested in hanging out downtown on Bourbon, but I’m bringing you variety folks! Enjoy!

3. Unofficial NYE Celebration at Victory Bar

Just so you know, I completely made this up, but why not bring in your NYE with Daniel Victory and Camille Whitworth of Victory Bar. The drinks are always flowing and the nibbles are mind-blowing. If you’re lucky you may find a new man or woman!

Run down: We love this bar for many reasons, and it has all to do with the amazing people who run it! Have a drink or two, order some appetizers and maybe they’ll let you in secreto…

4. PCI New Year’s Eve Party 2015

Run down: I’m not sure what PCI stands for, but our good friend owns this fine establishment, so we’re here to support. If you’re looking to spend a pretty penny to have a great time, this is your place!

5. Big Night New Orleans New Year’s Eve 2014

The massive complex is transformed into “Countdown City,” with multiple themed party areas, a buffet dinner, party favors, a balloon drop at midnight, an open bar, and live entertainment by Cowboy Mouth, Kid Kamillion, the Glen David Andrews Band, the Brass-A-Holics, Shamarr Allen, Royal Teeth, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, DJ Candy D, the 610 Stompers, DJ Mike Swift, Bad Girls of Burlesque, and Cirque VooDoo, Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission: General admission from $114.99. VIP admission from $189.99. Prices rise as event date nears.

Run down: Another event that will cost you a pretty penny. If you’re looking to party in a huge group and drink as if your life depended on it then this is the party for you!
