  2. Kenbe Fem Film Screening

    Friday, April 7th

David Pierre Louis’ life was shaken when his country of Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake in 2010. In the midst of all the turmoil, he got on a plane, flew to Haiti and was determined to find his mother. The experience moved him to galvanize the Haitian Diaspora and work together towards creating sustainable prosperity in the country’s economy.

David is going to be kicking off a 21-city tour of the film. I invite you to a private screening on Microsoft’s campus in which I’ll be moderating a panel discussion afterward.

  3. Black Folks Dinner Seattle

    April 9th

In the times we’re living in it’s increasingly critical that our community unites in life-affirming ways that strengthen our dignity and struggle and enhance our cultural technology and collective power. In a city self-proclaiming “progress” while devaluing and underserving Black lives, we’ve gotta converge and conspire like our lives, our children’s lives, and our grandchildren’s lives depend upon it – because they do. Black Folks Dinner Seattle is a step on that path – a watering hole along the journey to a just, thriving, and self-determined destination – for all who identify within the Black & African diaspora. We come together every month (or couple months) to connect over a potluck dinner and kick it.
