1. The Bodyguard

That’s right, that one! The Bodyguard is playing at the Saenger Theater Tues. April 4- Sunday, April 9. Based on the smash hit film, the award-winning musical will star Grammy®Award-nominee and R&B superstar DEBORAH COX! (FYI: Not on Saturday and Sunday, sorry guys) Get your tickets HERE


2. The Alliance of Diversity and Excellence Panel 

Wednesday, April 5 6pm-8pm

The discussion will be centered on leadership characteristics to be a successful leader in New Orleans schools and will be held at Dooky Chase, 2301 Orleans Ave. Follow The Second Line Education Blog for more.


3. French Quarter Fest (FQF)

Thursday, April 6- Sunday, April 9

Our first BIG festival of festival season is finally here! The festival runs Thursday, April 6- Sunday, April 9 and if it’s anything like last year, please get there early. It’s going to be hot and there will be thousands of people.

Enjoy over 300 hours of entertainment featuring more than 400 musical performances on twenty-three stages throughout the French Quarter over four days…FOR FREE! (Bring money for some of the best food and drinks this city has to offer!)

4.Women of Wonder “Girl talk on the Rooftop”

April 7th @ The Beacon 1000 Girod Street

Join @SpiritualHomies for Girl Talk on the rooftop! This event is open to all women and young ladies who desire a time to talk about what is going on in this world, in our community and in our lives.


5. Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival

Fri., April 7- Sun. April 9

The 46th annual festival is Fri., April 7- Sun. April 9 in Memorial Park and it is also FREE! There’s lots of great items to try made and infused with strawberries and rides for the kids. Check out the schedule here.

6. The Tipping Point

Friday, April 7th

Every Friday night at the Dragon’s Den it goes down! Like seriously…please wear something that breathes and is stretchy because this is not a hold the wall up kind of party. RQAway and #WhatIsAwayTeam always come correct.

7. #Daydream Day Party

Saturday, April 8th

Every Saturday at 14 Parishes. Happy Hour from 3-6pm, but the music and food continue until 9pm with DJ Jayskillz.
