Meet Kelli Saulny, an entrepreneur from New Orleans with some serious Style & Taste.  She’s turned a personal interest in a new cocktail into her own brand where knowing your spirits could land you in the next power circle.

M: Kelli, how did this all begin?

One day I wanted to try a whiskey cocktail but didn’t know anything about whiskey or what I was looking for.  So I started attending tastings around NYC and while they were very informative I realized no one looked like me.  So, I decided to take a self-proclaimed excursion into the world of spirits and share with my peers and those who the liquor industry tends to ignore.

The truth is the liquor industry has not caught up with the times to acknowledge how influential female consumers can be with their brands.  Knowing your liquor shows great taste and discernment, which I believe all women possess.   I am constantly motivated to empower savvy women by educating them on the world of fine spirits so they can translate the same confidence at the conference table to a dinner table.

Style & Taste is a lifestyle community for women who strive for excellence in every facet of their lives, including their choice of fine spirits.  We specialize in educational experiential activations, campaigns, and digital content for female consumers, to feel the brand’s cachet and build a strong emotional connection between quality and what’s in her glass

Morgan: What was the transition like moving to New York and then returning to New Orleans?

Kelli: So far so great!  New Orleans is a frontier for innovative cocktails so exploring has been quite an adventure.  Plus I don’t have worry about winter!

Morgan: Were there bumps in the road or days you had to really double-down and make things happen to get your vision off the ground?

Kelli: Everyday!  The thing about being an entrepreneur is you have to accept you’re you’re going to make mistakes, a lot of them.  The key is not to look at them as mistakes but rather learning experiences.  From there you have to continue to create opportunities for yourself to apply your learnings; that’s how you start to build success.

Morgan: What has been the most fulfilling part of this ongoing journey thus far?

Kelli: Style & Taste is not just about women drinking different cocktails…it’s about empowering women for everything that happens around a cocktail (business dinners, dating, etc.).  I find continuous fulfillment from gathering incredible women together for an inspiring experience that goes beyond the evenings.

Morgan: What do you tell yourself to stay motivated?

Kelli: I’ve survived 100% of my bad days so why stop now.

Morgan: What’s next for Style & Taste?

Kelli: I’m really excited about what I’m working on!  I want Style & Taste to be a support system for women so I’m really focused on digital content that transcends from the conference room to the bar room.  Look out for everything from a web series to a podcast.  I’m also working to add as many tasting events as I can before the end of 2017.
