Critically acclaimed poet, A Scribe Called Quess?, shares personal anecdotes on life, family, education, gentrification and coming of age in New Orleans. A founding member of Slam New Orleans, a member of VOIC’D (Voices Organized in Creative Dissent), and awarded honors from both the Mayor of New Orleans and City Council his performance will be followed by an Artist Talk.

“Lagniappe” is a quarterly old school party, hosted by #Awayteam & DJ RQ Away, originally intended as “something extra” for supporters of the #Awayteam brand. After the success of DJ RQ Away’s “Lagniappe” mix series the event transformed into an extraordinary night of new memories being made with an eclectic and soulful soundtrack, packed out venues, and sweat soaked shirts & blouses. Every event asks for donated items for those in need for a ticket to the event in exchange.

The Oak Street business corridor in the neighborhood of Carrollton will be transformed into one of the most unique festivals in the world, the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival! This event features some of the finest restaurants, artists and musicians in the Crescent City, all coming together in appreciation of one of New Orleans most distinct and delicious creations… the legendary Po-Boy Sandwich. In addition to great food and music the New Orleans Saints game will be played at a football zone set-up at Oak & Eagle.
