This event is a great space to get your professional headshots done at an affordable price. You will receive 2 retouched images and a complimentary cocktail. Props are welcomed. Bring your business cards so you can network with other folks as well. Plus @rqaway will be providing some great music.

3. Xavier University of Louisiana Homecoming 2017

The  Brain Food lecture series is an integral part of history of Dillard University. The first official president, William Stuart Nelson launched what he called the aesthetic spirit of Dillard in the late 1930s designed to build a closer relationship between the students and the community, and elevating awareness of the university throughout the nation.

CNN Contributor, Angela Rye will host Thursday’s session that is sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Martinet Society and The Justice Revius Ortique Jr. Lecture on Law and Society at 7pm in George’s Auditorium.

5. State of Black Education

The 100 Black Men of Metro New Orleans, Urban League of Greater New Orleans Young Professionals, and the Collegiate 100 Black Men of Xavier University of Louisiana will welcome Dr. John B. King, Jr., former U.S. Secretary of Education for President Barack Obama, to give remarks regarding the State of Education in the Black Community from a national perspective.

6. Flight Night Friday: Crown Royal

The Style and Taste’s Flight Night Friday returns with Crown Royal Whiskey Tastings and bottomless cocktails all evening.

7. #HashtagLunchbag

If there’s one thing we can always get with it’s serving our community. This weekend we are joining the efforts of The Orchid Society (TOS) for #HashtagLunchbag to bring a little joy this holiday season to the homeless community. TOS is accepting food donations (think packing your lunch for work or your’s child’s school day) and would love to bring on more volunteers. 8. Election Day

We encourage all of our professionals living in Orleans parish to make it a point to go to the polls and vote in the Special Elections. Your ballot may include a vote for Treasurer, Judge, City Councilmember, Mayor and some amendments. This is a big election as we will celebrate our first Black, female mayor in the city of New Orleans. We hope that you too see the importance in this historical day and cast your vote.
