On Friday, February 23rd, the WKND Wine Down will host its monthly event at the Golden Feather Mardi Gras Indian Gallery. The special event and fundraiser takes place from 5-9pm. February will be the first month of the launch of #BackThatArtUp where 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction and donations from the night will go to the Mardi Gras Indian Feather Fund.

This month’s event will include a special oration and performance by Big Chief Shaka Zulu of The Yellow Pocahontas Tribe, owner of Golden Feather and creator of The Voices of Congo Square. There will be featured art pieces from Amber Ivey and Courtney “Ceaux” Young. The silent auction will include photography from Chief’s private collection and a detached shoulder piece from his  suit. Guests can enjoy food sponsored by We Dat’s, wine, special Cream Ale from Adam Dawson (co-founder) of Cajun Fire Brewery, music by Lil’ Jodeci and a live taping of the event.
