Born in Houston, TX to Nigerian & Ugandan immigrants, Jenina grew up immersed in a culturally dynamic household. This diverse upbringing provided unique experiences such as working as a features writer for the Oji-River Peoples Chronicle and conducting annual creative writing workshops at the Houston African Arts Festival. After graduating from Syracuse University cum laude with a BS in Television, Jenina Kibuka moved to Los Angeles where she began her entertainment career at Creative Artists Agency. She went on to work as a development associate at Jerry Bruckheimer Television and a showrunner's assistant on TV shows including Incursion and Wicked City. Jenina is currently working as a writer’s assistant on NBC's The Blacklist. Jenina is currently preparing to shoot her first short film, The Prodigal One, and recently completed her first play, The Bed-Stuy Schlep.
